What do you Anticipate?

Anticipation is a Feeling is one of my favorites writings. You can view the video and text in the video/audio section.

The initial images I saw around this story began as I was listening to my I-pod while riding in the car from Belgium back to Germany.  As I loosely stared out the window noticing beautiful hillsides and forests, I was secretly playing with the feeling of a warm summer night brushing up against my body.  I watched a dark, starlit, magical setting becoming the stage for two people who were reveling in the intoxicating energy of attraction.

Later, when I started writing this story, what flowed in words, was a car ride through the woods and where they were going.  As I watched those lines effortlessly appear on my computer screen, the story evolved in my mind to become a story about any two people of any age and I also saw the possibility of myself in the story as I am now–more conscious of my power, more in control of my energy, more in my body and more aware of how the dynamic chemistry between people is symbolic of the dynamic chemistry between everything with consciousness.  And that is how I define attraction.  It’s that invisible but tangible chemistry or energy and it can be stretched out, enjoyed, and anticipated.

The story was never solely about sexual energy and the anticipation people feel around knowing they will connect with another in that way.  The larger story is about the anticipation of goodness we feel when we are connecting with ourselves as empowered creators, ever on a journey that presents us with many choices.  The car ride through the woods is like the journey we all make into the unknown and we can have an attitude of adventure and enthusiasm or we can be afraid and overcautious.  The energy moving between the man and the woman is reflective of the energy we allow in our relation to ourselves, which I believe, dictates how we relate to others.  We can nurture ourselves with loving thoughts or break ourselves down with destructive thoughts.  We can align and re-align ourselves with who we really are, infinitely co-creative beings with unlimited potential, capable of fulfilling our heartfelt desires or we can distract ourselves with the kind of life drama that puts us in states of limbo and numb forgetfulness.

The story could have ended in the car but savoring their alignment they chose to enter the field canopied with stars, the ideal place to be sandwiched between their connection with the physical and the energy they are, which is connected to all creation.  The field canopied with stars is you in your alignment with who you are and it holds the potential for endless delight.  Every situation in your life is an arena no matter how big or small is seems to you.  You can anticipate greatness coming from the next moment or not greatness.  Either way, you get to decide.  Choices are always available to us and we make them moment after moment.  The stories we tell ourselves about ourselves are based on choice.  If your choices aren’t bringing you some pleasure and delight, pick another one.  If it pleases you, wear it for a while.  If it doesn’t, put it down and choose another.  There’s no time limit.

What attracts you?  What makes you feel tingly inside?  What makes you feel like you can’t stop smiling?  Imagine more of that, whatever it is.  No judgement.  Anticipate more of it.  Focus on it.  Play with it.  Feel yourself in relationship to it.  Tickle it.  Engage it.  Let it be a noncompetitive game.   Does the focusing on it make you feel more relaxed?  If yes, anticipate that kind of good feeling increasing and showing up in infinite ways.

Love the imagery of the story and video. For me, the most powerful part is emerging from the car into the star filled meadow, so it is fun to hear your author thoughts about not ending before that.

I like the idea of the attraction between people being about the deeper connection we all have in the cosmos and being grateful for that, not afraid or judgmental of it. Thanks CJ!

Wow Cj I could resonate with this today! A couples energy can be so powerful. Thanks for explaining about vibrations and how they are a part of the way we interact. This adds a new dimension for me and I am looking forward to putting this in to play. We do connect on so many different levels. The possibilities are truly limitless. Thanks again for sharing this.

Cheers on your awesome car ride in Belgium. I do some of my best thinking while in the car!

This is probably my favorite writing. Did you also watch the video with the Anticipation is a Feeling text?
Some people may find this video boring, but I find it so sensual, peaceful, yet heated in a natural way.
A car ride is a good place for awakening to powerful insights and ideas! I agree!
many thanks Ginni! Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings.
