Fearlessness
—

Dots of Gardenia

I feel the urge,

The urge to be outrageous,

I hear the call,

The call to be misunderstood,

By those who care not to know,

What lives beyond fear,

I feel the beat,

The beat of instinct, of animal impulse,

I hear the whisper,

The whisper speaking soft words,

By those who know true love,

And hide not too long behind fear,

I feel the heat rising in my body,

Mending my bones,

Reorganizing my thoughts,

Kissing my soul,

Making room for me to hear,

To hear the silence,

The silence of petals slowly opening, folding back,

Revealing the center me,

A face that dares look directly into the sun, into the light.

I feel the strength,

The strength of love running up my stem,

Supporting its bloom,

Supporting my fearlessness.

Poem and Paintings by CJ McPhee

What would it be like to naturally follow the impulse to grow and flourish,

unleashing your magnificence, as easily as a flower opening up to the sun?

What would it feel like to be supported in that process in the way a stem

supports its bloom?

I felt so excited about being a flower with my face up turned to the sun…My stem strong, supportive and yet flexible in the very same instant. Being able to bend but not break.

How very wonderful it most be to be a flower. Cj your imagination is mindful and at the same time so much fun!

ah yes, Ginni, to be like a flower, such beauty and no self consciousness.
Pure receiving. Self deprivation cannot touch us when we open like a flower,
supported by the entire Universe. I know you know it!
